It goes without saying that variety is the spice of life, and for adults, this can be a complex thing to make a reality. We have a tendency to fall into ruts, and this is very much the case with our sex lives as well.

This can be unhealthy for our relationships because sexuality while not the only concern, is still very much an important aspect of a mature relationship. This is one of the reasons why being shy about spicing things up with toys, isn’t just silly, but ultimately folly as well.

One of the lesser known of these items is the penis extension, which takes the concept of a condom overlay, and combines it with the form factor of a “realistic” dildo. Is this an effective tool for improving the enjoyment of sex? Well, yes and no, as we’ll see.

What is the best penis extension? It is important that the product is manufactured by a well-established company that uses only quality materials. Then, consider its design. Realistic and textured toys feel quite natural and will increase your chances of orgasm. Also, make sure that the item fits most sizes and is available in the color you need. We believe that Lovehoney fits these criteria best.

Why have we chosen this product? This model is produced by a very respected manufacturer of sex toys — Lovehoney. This one looks and feels natural and is available in three colors: clear, Caucasian and black. It is hypoallergenic and, therefore, is safe for your skin as the material will not cause irritation. This extender adds up to 3 inches to your penis while its ball loop keeps the toy comfortably in place. Its realistic veins are designed to boost your partner’s sensation and pleasure.

This guide covers TOP-5 best penis extension sleeves and how they work. Find out what sexologists and psychologists say about the benefits of using this kind of sex toys and whether they involve any health risk. There are also valuable tips from our sex enthusiast, such as why you should better apply lube and make some manscaping before using a penis extender. A comprehensive comparison chart of the most popular products will help you to pick the right one.

What Benefits Do Penis Extensions Offer?

This one is a little different from other toys, in that due to its design, it does tend to obscure the sensations provided to the male partner using it. This is obviously, at face value, something of a disadvantage for this gentleman, but that’s not a reason to refrain from using them, as it is readily removable, and this diminished sensation can be useful for certain things that we’ll get to in just a second.

The concept of “making it bigger”, however, must first be addressed, because the whole spiel about penis size is honestly a bit ridiculous. Let’s be blunt here for a moment. Unless one has a very small member, or one’s partner is, to put it very politely, “worn out”, penis size isn’t actually that important in and of itself.

The fact of the matter is that the size of the penis does not matter for the pleasure of its owner, and the perceived insufficiency there is entirely psychological, psychosomatic, and a product of very primeval genetic competition that hasn’t actually been a thing for millennia. Coupled with this, most women’s anatomy is in fact designed in such a matter that a penis of any size can very effectively stimulate it, and provide pleasure and allow them to achieve orgasm.

Men, unsurprisingly, don’t usually have a solid grasp of female psychology, especially when it comes to sexual pleasure and attraction. Well, women are complicated in this matter, because they’re human, and all humans are complicated in various ways. The truth is, most women do not base their satisfaction standardly on penis size, nor do they gauge their attraction to partners based on it. There are exceptions of course, but it’s equated to male attraction to breast size (this is a slight stretch). Most men will notice sizeable breasts, but will still be very attracted to a beautiful woman who has little or nothing in the way of a chest as well.

So, if penis size isn’t quite as critical to pleasure or sufficiency as men have bashed themselves into thinking, then there’s no call for this kind of technology, right? Wrong. While a woman doesn’t need a large penis to satisfy her generally, the occasional pushing of limits can provide variety, and variety also helps in the enjoyment of the status quo when it is returned to. We all enjoy a dip in the pool, but the sharp difference in heat from a hot tub is still nice on occasion, right?

Furthermore, the reduced sensation of one of these toys can enable a man to spend more time before climax, which can make it easier to fully satisfy their partner (allowing them to achieve one or more orgasms beforehand, given men mostly cannot do this, once they go, they’re done).

What Type of Penis Extensions are There?

Truth be told, there aren’t many varieties to these, because there’s only one overall way for these to work. They’re basically a hollowed out “realistic” dildo which surrounds the erect penis, with a bit of elastic material to grip the base and possibly the scrotum.

There are minor variations in how they’re modeled, how realistic they look, and whether or not the scrotum grip is present. I for one am not a fan of anything that grips my jewels, and I can speak for many men in this case, that is a part nature only intended to be treated nicely.

Experiments have been made to create vibrating versions of these and so on, but they frankly just never worked well, so until the science exists to transfer sensation from the extension to the male nervous system (it’ll get there don’t you worry), there’s minimal innovation to be had with this type of toy in the foreseeable future.

How Do Penis Extensions Work?

The materials used for these are generally latex or silicone of a hypoallergenic nature, not unlike what dildos, male masturbators and the like are comprised of. This is the most skin-like synthetic material we can make that can handle what these sorts of things are put through on a regular basis.

They simply fit snugly around the penis to add texture, girth and length. There’s not much else to them aside from possible texturing offered in some models, for partners that enjoy this.

Boosting Your Chances of Orgasm: How to Use Penis Extensions

These are generally very easy to use. As I said, they generally just fit snugly over an erect penis. Always, always use lube when you put one of these on, and give the material a moment to warm from body heat before inserting it into a partner, otherwise they may not enjoy the cold sensation of un-warmed, wet silicone.

If it has a bit of elastic, gently enclose it around your scrotum, but if it is entirely too tight, refrain from using this part. It’s never good to cut off circulation to this part too severely, after all.

If you happen to be, shall we say, a hairy fellow, you will want to trim and do some manscaping first, or this thing could take hair with it, as I’ll explain in more detail in a moment. Go gentle with this too, as the reduced sensation make cause you to not realize you’re “jackhammering” – something that many women don’t actually like!

TOP-5 Best Penis Extensions

Below, you will find a review of TOP-5 best penis extension sleeves at a price ranging from $15 to $35. Most items feel naturally and are textured with realistic veins. They are hypoallergenic and fit different sizes, with some model available in different colors. Keep in mind that these products come without lubricants which you should purchase separately to make your sex safe and pleasant.

Adam’s Penis Extension

Adam’s Penis Extension: photo

This is a prime example of a less realistic, textured take on the concept. It offers ribs and barbs for the pleasure of a partner, and does boast that it has pleasure points inside as well, though those honestly rarely do much for penile stimulation.

For just providing a partner with a wild time before satisfying oneself, this is a decent design, but only providing that your partner likes ribbing and barbs (my partner is decidedly not a fan of this).

Features

  • Style: Simple prophylactic sleeve.
  • Appearance: Vaguely penis-shaped.
  • Color: Clear.
  • Texturing: Ribs and barbs.
  • Scrotum Grip: None.
  • Size: Fits most sizes.
  • Hypoallergenic: Yes.
  • Includes Lube: No, but you need it.

Performance

If your partner enjoys ribbing like this, this will show them some fun, and add some variety to your sex life. It will allow you to perform longer, but you will need to remove it to finish, due to the reduced stimulation it provides.

Nonetheless, it fits well, it doesn’t put your little friends in a vice, and if your partner likes the texturing, it will show them a very good time over all. I would say beware that this one is especially prone to grabbing hair, and it can squeeze the urethra a bit too hard (which can cause a special kind of discomfort I’ve described in similar pieces to this).

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Texturing is nice.
  • Doesn’t grip tender parts.
  • Easily-cleaned.
  • Comfortable.
  • Texturing isn’t overdone.
  • Affordable.
  • Reputable manufacturer (Adam & Eve).

Cons

  • If your partner doesn’t like ribbing, they won’t enjoy this.
  • “Pleasure points” inside don’t do anything for the penis.
  • Likes to create a bit of a vacuum seal if you’re not careful with the lube.
  • Transparency is honestly kind of pointless for these.

Conclusion

This isn’t really recommended as your first extension, and I’d make very sure your partner likes ribbed toys first. And please, for your own sake, do some manicuring down there before putting this on. Don’t be Jeff!

Really Ample Penis Extender

Really Ample Penis Extender: photo

Well, this one has an amusing name if nothing else, doesn’t it? But in all seriousness, this is more along the lines of something recommendable as an entry-level toy of this sort, though not the absolute entry-level, which is a little further down our list.

This looks like a penis, it’s textured with veins and so on like a penis, which means it feels more natural, something that a lot of partners will appreciate. It was something like this that my friends were using in that movie, because it looked reasonably realistic.

Features

  • Style: Simple prophylactic sleeve.
  • Appearance: Looks like a penis.
  • Color: Flesh (Caucasian).
  • Texturing: Realistic veins and the like.
  • Scrotum Grip: Yes, but it’s optional.
  • Size: Fits most sizes.
  • Hypoallergenic: Yes.
  • Includes Lube: No, but you need it.

Performance

This has a more natural feel and look to it which, if you’re just trying to provide your partner with a longer period of performance, and spice things up now and then, makes it much more ideal. This one does have a grip, but it’s optional, and I wouldn’t recommend it due to how the material might pull hair.

All in all, while there’s one I think is better as an entry-level version of this toy, I would consider this pretty ideal for the casual, vanilla couple just looking to have a fun and unique time now and then. You shouldn’t rely on this kind of toy all the time though, as it’s just not the same as legitimate flesh to flesh activities.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Realistic textures.
  • Comfortable.
  • Scrotum grip is optional.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Looks natural.
  • Affordable.
  • Reputable manufacturer (Adam & Eve).

Cons

  • Male won’t get much out of this while using it.
  • The scrotum grip is too tight, and could pull hair.
  • The skin tone is a little unrealistic, so it won’t look spot on with any actual human skin tone.
  • It’s a bit fragile, which would be a bigger problem if it were expensive.

Conclusion

I am comfortable recommending this to most people looking just to shake things up, and provide their partner with a prolonged experience before they themselves climax. This isn’t my number one choice, which I’m getting to shortly, but it’s definitely up there. Just, don’t use that grip. It’s not going to help, and could actually result in some special kinds of discomfort in the end.

Lovehoney Penis Extender with Ball Loop

Lovehoney Penis Extender with Ball Loop: photo

Lovehoney is a very respected manufacturer of sex toys of all varieties, so you know pretty much anything they make is going to check most of the quality boxes. This one looks and feels mostly natural, though I don’t entirely get the appeal of the transparency.

It is available in Caucasian and black as well, though they heavily feature the clear one, perhaps for demonstration or skin tone neutrality purposes. I have to ask though, how are you going to need three of these?

Features

  • Style: Simple prophylactic sleeve.
  • Appearance: Looks like a penis.
  • Color: Clear, Caucasian or black
  • Texturing: Realistic veins and the like.
  • Scrotum Grip: Yes, but it’s optional.
  • Size: Fits most sizes.
  • Hypoallergenic: Yes.
  • Includes Lube: No, but you need it.

Performance

This one came close to getting my personal favorite, just because it has a nice, squishy yet firm design that my partner for one will vouch for being quite pleasant, as they have a collection of toys made with a similar material. However, the insistence on these scrotum grips kind of baffles me.

Men who like that part of their anatomy being bound or snagged up, are actually much more rare than those who do not. It’s at least optional, but it’s going to be in the way when you don’t use it. You’d think you could just cut it off, but something about materials like this is when they’ve been at all lacerated, they tend to begin to fall apart at that point.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Realistic textures.
  • Comfortable.
  • Scrotum grip is optional.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Looks natural.
  • Affordable.
  • Reputable manufacturer (Lovehoney).

Cons

  • Male won’t get much out of this while using it.
  • The scrotum grip is too tight, and could pull hair.
  • This is available in three colors, but none of them are particularly realistic.
  • This one’s exceptionally fragile if you don’t use it with absolute care.
  • This one seems to cause the penis to get exceptionally sweaty, and that’s not something anyone likes. Choose lube accordingly.

Conclusion

I have a lot of respect for Lovehoney, and I always thought that was a cute company name. They make very good products, and my partner and I enjoy many of their different kinds of toys in fact. But this one falls a little short of being my favorite because it has one too many cons versus pros. Doesn’t make it not a good product, though!

TOPCO SALES Cyberskin Penis Extension

OPCO SALES Cyberskin Penis Extension: photo

In spite of my opinion that with sex toys, brand matters, this product by a basically unknown manufacturer is in fact my favorite on our list.

Why is that? Frankly, it’s simple. It has no uncomfortable grips, it looks and feels mostly natural, and if my partner and I were into this particular type of toy more than we are, this would absolutely be the one she would want me to use. I don’t blame her.

Features

  • Style: Simple prophylactic sleeve.
  • Appearance: Looks like a penis.
  • Color: Caucasian
  • Texturing: Realistic veins and the like.
  • Scrotum Grip: No.
  • Size: Fits most sizes.
  • Hypoallergenic: Yes.
  • Includes Lube: No, but you need it.

Performance

This is the best entry level approach, and as I said, this is the one my partner and I would use if we were more drawn to sleeves than we are. We’ve tried a product like this, and while it wasn’t a negative experience, we’re in the “use numbing lube” camp when it comes to artificially prolonging performance. Many don’t like that, and for them, this is the product to try.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Simple.
  • Affordable.
  • Easy maintenance.

Cons

  • The material could have a less cheap texture.
  • It could afford to lose the “manly dude bro” packaging.

Conclusion

I recommend this to anyone curious about these extensions, and would definitely be the one she and I would use if we did.

ZXDFV Penis Sleeve Enlarger

ZXDFV Penis Sleeve Enlarger: photo

I want to briefly touch on this one, as it’s a little different. It’s more like a rubber wrap, which does provide more sensation, but I think it’d actually inflict some frustration as a result.

Features

  • Style: Simple prophylactic sleeve.
  • Appearance: Looks like a penis.
  • Color: Black.
  • Texturing: Realistic veins and the like.
  • Scrotum Grip: Yes.
  • Size: Fits most sizes.
  • Hypoallergenic: Yes.
  • Includes Lube: No, but you need it.

Performance

This would be the “advanced” extension for those bored of the more mundane. I could see some enjoying this, but it seems to me like this one would pull and pinch things.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Unique.
  • Thin.
  • Very realistic texturing.

Cons

  • Fragile.
  • That grip is awful.

Conclusion

This is something I really only recommend to the adventurous, but I can see it having a market for sure.

My Personal Experience with a Penis Extender

Well, I’ve tried just about everything once, so I can say that, very briefly, I did try one of these back in the day. But the girl I was seeing wasn’t that into it, and neither was I, so that didn’t really go anywhere.

And, truth be told, I’ve never felt like what nature gave me was insufficient, nor have I gotten any complaints from partners (and oh, I have a couple ex’s that wouldn’t have hesitated to lobby complaints once our relationships failed). As we said, a lot of people do come to these toys out of a sense of being personally insufficient.

This doesn’t mean I don’t have a cautionary tale about these, though. This isn’t a job that I put on my resume for obvious reasons, but back in college, I was the only one in my group of friends who really understood how to work with a camera. And so, one month, my friend talked me into shooting the porn movie he was making.

Thankfully for me, it wasn’t starring him, but a free-spirited lady friend of his and … I’m not sure who the guy was, even now. But they wanted to film a long-shot scene where he went at her at a rapid and persistent pace. This was a pace that really no normal fellow could maintain for that long. So, they used one of these, as it looked fairly natural from the angle, and would allow him to sustain performance that long.

However, this fellow … let’s call him Jeff (I honestly don’t remember his name). Jeff forgot to use lube when he put that thing on, and he hadn’t done any manscaping beforehand. Not only did he have some serious irritation on his member after the fact, but he also took some hair with it when it came off. I’ve never heard such a high-pitched howl of pain from such a wrestler-looking guy. It was funny … to everyone but him that is.

So, the lesson to take away from this is very obvious – be wary of hair, and always, always use lube with it. You’ll be sorry if you don’t heed this advice, Jeff most certainly was, I’ll say that much.

Conclusion

If you want to spice things up, or extend your performance for your partner, these are one of two guaranteed ways to do it. However, don’t use one of these out of feeling insufficient, because that’s a bad attitude and do defer to what sexologists say about size legitimately being less of an issue than guys make it out to be!
